High-flying Dartford lost ground on the Blue Square Bet Premier leaders on Tuesday evening while Cambridge came out on top against Ebbsfleet in a six-goal thriller.
Richard Money’s Cambridge United rallied from a goal down to record a 4-2 win against Ebbsfleet United at Stonebridge Road.
Tom Elliott got the visitors off to a flying start, finding the back of the net after just one minute of play. Liam Daish’s men clawed their way back, though, with goals on either side of the break from Liam Enver-Marum (13) and Matt Godden (49) giving them a slender advantage.
However, it was the U’s who had the last say, Sam Smith’s 65th minute goal sandwiched by an Elliott brace (64, 76).
Andy Brown’s 45th-minute goal was enough to propel Nuneaton Town to a 1-0 triumph over Tony Burman’s Dartford at the Triton Showers Community Arena.
Welling United and Dover Athletic both closed the gap at the top of the Blues Square Bet South standings to just two points with respective victories on Tuesday night.
Welling, who remain above the Whites thanks to a superior goal difference, took all three points off Bromley with a 3-1 victory at Park View Road.
Joe Healy (pen 13) put the Wings in front with a spot-kick which he drilled straight down the middle while Ross Lafayette (67) doubled their advantage in the second-half.
Ali Fuseini (76) managed a late consolation goal for the visitors, but it wouldn’t be enough as Theo Fairweather-Johnson (90) swept home late on to ensure Manager of the Month for November, Jamie Day, another three valuable points.
Dover, meanwhile, put Truro City to the sword at Treyew Road, with Ben May (38), Billy Bricknell (72), Calum Willock (82) all finding the back of the net to earn a comfortable 3-0 win.
Welling and Dover trail league leaders Salisbury City by two points, although Darrell Clarke’s men now have two games in hand over the latter and one over the former.
